Songbird Jones is rootsy, songwriter driven sounds by country crooner Matt Jones from Fort Worth, Texas. Music about anything from gourds to horses, good girls and cowgirls, big cities to small towns. Songs about real people and the places they call sacred. Taking his own lyrics and making them come alive in melody is the never ending well that he draws from giving audiences an original experience that can only be described as…… Songbird Jones.
You will find Matt often with his full band or as a duo (sometimes solo) and almost always with lead guitarist Paul Boll. Paul has produced several of Songbird Jones projects and has credits from ESPN to Roadracers (Salma Hayek and David Arquette) to name a couple.
Recent highlights for Songbird Jones include Matt’s song“Ropin’”being licensed for the Utah Shakespeare Festival.“Give Her The Reins She’ll Run”received Best Song Award at The Billy The Kid Film Festival. The music video for the song has 45,000 views and counting. Recent shows include opening for Town Mountain, Jason Boland, Jonathan Tyler, Stoney LaRue and Pat Green. Matt has completed multiple commissioned songwriting projects for farms and ranches all over the US. And Songbird Jones continues to receive airplay from their most recent EP, “If It Takes Tulsa” at 95.9 The Ranch and beyond!
